The Dewalt DW999, 18 volt cordless SDS drill is an awesome machine and is capable of drilling through the hardest of materials with ease. This model is much lighter in weight than it's 24 volt brother and is much easier to use.

Hammer action Hammer action can be easily switched on or off, with the selector switch on the side.

Regardless of what you are using the Dewalt DW999 for it will perform well. I often use it to drill masonry, but I also use an sds drill adaptor so that I can use it for driving screws home. With the power that this machine delivers it makes it difficult justifying spending money on a impact driver.
