Glass can easily be drilled using a spear point glass drill bit, these bits will also drill ceramic tiles! For larger holes you can use a diamond coated holesaw. Whichever drill bit you use to drill the glass you will need some coolant/lubricant, Parrafin, turpentine, WD40 work well, even water can be used if you have nothing else available.
