Hi there,
We got a plasterer in last month, and have just now discovered PVA streaks all over our walls when washing them down before painting. We know the guy did the walls before the ceiling so that's probably what happened. It's out of the question to get him back in to make good as he's made it clear he's not coming back!
How do we go about removing the pva? We have yet to do a mist coat. On other threads I was reading we need to use some sort of primer, but other threats are over 10 years old so maybe there is a different method or primer since then? Other threads have said to do an oil based undercoat, but would we need to mist coat it before we do that?
Thanks everybody! Thought best to ask the experts before we do anything really awful

PVA streaks on fresh plaster
I would treat this the same was as if the plasterer had over polished the plaster, get a piece of hessian sacking and rub over the affected areas with a circular motion, this should remove the pva enough to get a mistcoat on.
