How to paint internal wall which has gone streaky because of heat?

Hi

I painted an internal wall on Monday and I think the heat caused the paint to go all uneven and now the paint looks all streaky on it.

I've tried putting multiple coats on it, sanding it by hand, watering down the paint, painting it with a paint brush - all with the curtains drawn to prevent the wall getting hot again. But nothing has made a difference.

Short of power sanding the wall down I'm out of ideas.

If anyone has any suggestions, it's much appreciated?!

I've hopefully attached an image of the wall.

Which brand/colour combo have you used and what was the pile depth of your roller? Both can have an effect.

High temperature during application would be more likely to create a patchwork effect than streaks.

Depending on how strong the light source is, you may find this can exaggerate the effect, as can poor plastering or uneven surfaces.

What you describe is something I've observed with Dulux Trade coloured emulsion. The binder it uses to hold the pigment/tint in suspension, simply isn't of sufficient quality and strength to be fit for purpose.

Yeah it was the heat that caused the problem. I couldn't maintain a wet edge and ended up with lap marks.

In the end I power sanded the wall and re-applied the paint, as it was alot cooler today.
