I need to buy a larger vehicle to tow my tool trailer. I currently have a Peugeot Partner van but I think it can only tow around 950kg which isn't big enough, I need something around 2000kg.
I considered buying a second hand Mitsubishi Shogun but on my travels I saw a Ssang Yong Rexton W (2014) 38k miles for 10k. It can tow 3000kg. It's the commercial type so it has no rear seats. It looks mint butI don't know a lot about Ssang Yong or their reliablity. I had a Kia for a while and had no problems with it.
The downside with this Ssang Yong is it only gives about 32mpg.
Has anyone had any experience with these cars?

Re: Ssang Yong Rexton
As I recall they are a bit basic but good to tow. There are lots of Mercedes bits built in which I always thought was a weakness. I think the poor consumption is down to the small number of gears and long range between shifts. For what you want it for it should do okay, just not too much in creature comforts. I knew a guy used to tow down to Spain with his regularly.

Re: Ssang Yong Rexton
I think I'll leave it. The reviews in parkers are poor.
