I have fitted a new kitchen tap with new flexi hoses.
At first it was fine but 2 months on and the water tastes bad.
Could this be the new pipes?

Re: New tap funny tasting water
How does the water taste at all of the other taps in the house that have not been changed? If they are fine then I'd be inclined to think the issue is the new tap / new flexi hose.

WRAS approved ? if so it can't be the issue. As for the above advice, if you have mains pressure everywhere in your home then good. If a cold water storage tank then avoid drinking water from the storage tank.ashleywood.ash wrote:I have fitted a new kitchen tap with new flexi hoses.

Can you describe the "bad" taste ?

Re: New tap funny tasting water
Worth checking the tap you fitted was a bi-flow not a basic mixer or you may be having hot water maybe from a tank left in the spout.
Bi-flow taps only mix at the spout outlet mixers can mix before the water enters the spout.

Re: New tap funny tasting water
Hi
Sorry for delay.
New mixer tap with pipes included from b and q.
All other taps in house are fine and unchanged.
Old tap used to be fine.
I have a combi boiler so no tanks. I have disconnected hose from outside tap.
It tastes rubbery metalic. A pewtrid rubber taste
