Looking at a house, there is a long (double) detached garage with a corrugated sheets asbestos roof. There are a few holes and several of the asbestos sheets are broken/cracked. The sheets are on regular joists, and there is no ceiling, so no complications.
I assume the correct remedy would be to bring in a specialist asbestos removal outfit to Any guidance on current costs? I assume price/square meter is the way it's priced?
Could reroofing with corrugated PVC be an option?

Re: Asbestos Garage Roof
I would guess that a genuine company would not give much change from 1000 quid just to remove. my daughter paid £500 a good few years ago and watching them the looked a bunch of cowboys!
Real answer is to ring a couple of places and get a ball park figure from them then negotiate on the price with the vendor.

Re: Asbestos Garage Roof
I had almost the same situation as you describe.
I think the correct description is "Asbestos-Cement" (AC) corrugated sheets - with the usual mixture being 10 - 15% Asbestos.
I got excellent and simple advice from Googling a few Local Authority (LA) sites and DIY-ed the removal. The sheets are on the heavy side so do get help.
You could overclad the ACs, again plenty of LA advice is available.
The main caveat is that any danger from the Asbestos is if you drill or saw the AC sheets and inhale the dust.
My Local Council provides a FREE disposal service to people who can arrange delivery of the suitably wrapped sheets to their special depot.

Re: Asbestos Garage Roof
I had our garage roof replaced recently and the roofers removed the asbestos sheets with a couple of acros and a 2x4. Gently winding the acros up to ease the old nails out. No breaking the sheets and no dust, I just wrapped them in polythere dust sheets and took them to my local tip, cost was nothing in addition to the roof replacement. The sheets don’t have to be broken as long as you have a car big enough to take them and a local tip with the asbestos skips.
