There is now a real alternative to silicone sealant and inadequate sealing strips for sealing joints on baths, showers and worktops.
Movement is the main cause of many problems when sealing around baths and showers, the weight of a bath including the person bathing can be a considerable weight, this causes the bath or shower tray to flex considerably and in most cases the bead of silicone sealant will be broken which will allow water to get between the bath or shower tray and the wall. This can cause problems to the ceilings below as eventually they will stain, but serious damage could be caused to the timbers beneath as it can cause wet rot.
