I wonder if this is a generic recall or whether it just affects Screwfix supplied.

Wouldn't mind a bet that screwfix buy in slightly cack stuff.

I logged my call with wylex 4months ago, engineers phoned on say Tuesday at4pm and said they were in my area on the Wednesday for the only time in the next 4weeks. I said this is hardly convenient and asked if they could just post the mcbs as I installed the unit myself, they said no. Phoned teach since and got no answer, tested as much as I can and they seem to do there job perfectly so given up chasing them.

Oh and RO nearly every electrical wholesaler I use does the same wylex consumer unit deals that screwfix do so I doubt they are buying b grade stock.

It's not just Screwfix, it's just the 'quality' Wylex. Volex and Craptree- sorry Crabtree, as well as the copies (Newlec / Denmans etc)

Does anyone know what these problem MCBs would be marked by as the name?

I always wish they would say what the actual fault is. Its often fairly minor and sometimes very obvious when present.

Dealing with these kind of things can be very time consuming.

The Wylex MCBs are identified by the picture. I have no idea if the other rebranded MCBs have a different recall number.
