Would You Buy A Second Hand . . . .

Submarine Off The Royal Navy?

Canada Did but probably wish they hadn't. Canada purchased four of them for about $890 million in 1998.

Quote:
One of the Canadian navy’s four Victoria-class submarines will be restricted in its ability to dive deep beneath the seas because of rust.

The British Royal Navy launched the submarines in the late 1980s and early 1990s before taking them out of service in 1994.
At what cost :dunno: no wonder we are skint ::b

cars are designed for a shorter life [around 10 years]
submarines trains planes are designed for around 15 to 25 years with refurbishing and being updated
indeed some locos are nearing 60 years old and in front line use

I'd have one, I avoid buying anything new.
People who buy new cars? Mad. When theres shedloads of people selling cars under a year old with only a handful of miles for so much less it seems absolutely insane to me.

Also got a second hand washing machine, my dad does Judo and the suits being so heavy they royally knacker the internals on any machine, get em as cheap as possible, they still clean clothes.
Got stacks of used tapes, cd's, records, books. And some real bargains from oxfam, clothes that they'll reproduce now as vintage and charge a bomb for.
Never bought a brand new instrument, expect for ones I've built and even then a lot of the parts will be second hand.
Nothing wrong with second hand goods, and lets be fair, canada is never gonna need 4 submarines

Thought you were gonna say that if it didn't work he would go round and kick the sh*t out of them
