For anyone that's remotely interested in the World Cup what's your predictions for the winners.
I'm going for the Germans, can't see past them. Brazil as runners up.
I'll stick my neck out and say that engerlaand won't progress past the group stage either.

:dunno: Engerland go out on penalties??

Apparently they've been practising.

Shaking their heads in a forlorn sort of way...

Ferrari have made some advances...I reckon Alonso for 3rd on the podium in Canada..........Assuming Hamilton and Rosberg don't take each other off....

As brundle said yesterday, it's inevitable they will wipe each other out at some point, but with the advantage they have already, I can't see it making any difference. The Renault and Ferrari power units are really where the gains need to be made. Apparently the Ferrari unit is about 50hp down on the merc unit.

As for the World Cup, I'd like England to put on a good showing, there ain't a hope in hell we can win, but so long as we don't embarrass ourselves I don't mind.

Never predicted holland would wipe the floor with Spain. Not to detract from the awesome display by the Dutch, but Spain were useless

With any luck it's the beginning of the end for tiki-taka.

predictions:

never underestimate Germany (although they do look a bit long in the tooth)

or Italy

England have the talent to do better than expected (by many) if only they can produce it on the pitch

Argentina will likely be in the mix somewhere

Brazil can only get better (than we've seen so far)

Bring it on - the beer is waiting - I may well crack and have one before 23:00 though.

Hope your right about the tika-taka ,drives me to despair ::b
With you on England's chances though I 'm very wary about corruption this tournament ,stopped me betting on results and it's the only time I do have a bet normally. :angryfire:

Let's hope Italy can beat Engerland tonight, though I think it may end in a draw.

I like the look of the Argies and after last nights performance I'd not rule out the Dutch.

Regardless, I hope everyone enjoys it...... :thumbleft:

Oh, I don't know if you can remember; Engerland gave a bung to a Russian Linesman in 1966 & cheated to win the World Cup, so let's not take the moral high ground eh!!.......

I gave that up in 1983 - I didn't used to be a regular punter but liked to pick out the odd gee-gee now and again, (mainly to annoy a totally addicted p&d I worked with).

For the Derby that year I fancied Teenoso and Carlingford Castle, went out for a walk to find a betting shop and place a £5 forecast - to cut a long story short I couldn't find a betting shop and went back to the job and listened to the race on the radio - needless to say the result was a one/two for my choices - I kicked the radio across the room and haven't placed a bet since.

It's almost seems unfair: they've hidden away all those nasty old Germans from WW2 and now look what their modern countrymen done.

Brazil have never looked that good to me in this tournament, but after the second goal they just fell apart.

Tonight's game should be a lot closer, but can anyone see past Germany for the final?
