Hey guys,

Complete D.I.Y noob here but figured I'd sign up and hopefully learn from you guys how to do some things for myself. I know very little and although I have basic tools, using them properly is another matter.

My house is about 118 years old and seems to have been worked on by every idiot, blind person, bodger and cowboy builder in the county. Tiles on top of tiles, electrical sockets wired to the boiler, old shed flat packed and buried under the lawn. The list is endless.

I recently found some videos on youtube (run by admin maybe?) which is how I found the forum. Anyway, hopefully I'll be able to get things sorted and apologies in advance for the stupid questions I'm bound to ask :D

Thanks guys.

Been here since 2001 but because of debts when we were younger and other crap we've only really started working on it this past year or so. Although we've known about some of the problems for a while. We used to have to put the heating on to get the outside light to turn on, as it was wired to the boiler
