I had the offending boiler installed just over 2 years ago, went to put heating on tonight and joy. When I look at the control panel, flame light comes on, but 'pump' does not start running and the digital display shows '-[]-' kind of symbol flashing.

I will be calling boiler man out, just after an idea on what to expect, if I have an idea I may not collapse when he gives the price

It's a delay, whilst the boiler does a safety check on the condense etc.

I gather all is working again

I have read about exactly that situation on another forum!

From someone in the same location as well!

Its still the boiler settling down and just needs a patient owner to leave it along until its ready to work!
