I have just managed to set my nintendo wii up on line, not only can I now access my emails from my computer but also from the lounge T.V. via the wii the wii remote is used to point to the letters on a on-screen keyboard. this opens up allsorts of opportunaties I can now watch BBC IPLAYER on the lounge TV via the wii, and all other chanels like IPLAYER so I am wondering why I need sky? also I can remotely link to my upstairs computer via the web and play any downloaded films off my computer directly via wii on my 42" TV (or any of my mp3's on the TV surround system. just thought I would share as I had no idea the wii was capable of this..

I got a wii and set it up on the web.

have to subscribe/buy the "internet channel" - but that is just a £5 one-off anyway.
I found the web use a bit fiddle - on screen keyboard and all that, and iPlay works but would not work full size.

Not tried linking with other systems on my network - sounds interesting that.

Be useful to have a bit more info on what you did to set stuff up.

if you go to http://www.orb.com/en/download_orb this is freeware that you install on your pc then you register and create a password etc, then on your wii or xbox or ps3 or any other pc you can go to http://mycast.orb.com/ then login to access your home pc and start viewing photo's playing music or films off your pc tower.. oh by the way yes it can be used on xbox etc.. as previously stated you need to go to the wii shop and download the internet browser which you need 500 wii points to purchase the download that will put your wii online.. hope this helps

as and for the iplayer the + and - button on your wii remote will expand the iplayer to full screen

Cheers, Blakester - Never tried the + buttons :-) I will try all the other bits out as well :thumbright:

as an aside, I was a Mega Donkey Kong Fan (the original 1980 arcade version) and there is a pretty good emulation for it for the Wii - missing one level (conveyor belt/pies one) but apart from that sad ommision, good fun

I have the Wii set up to view the net which is quite cool, but Mario Kart is the best thing to do on there with the online gaming feature.

Got the 360 sorted so it has Media Center connected so i can watch everything i have on the PC through the downstairs TV and have all my music through the Stereo which is nice.
