Mrs H has this tendency to want to make loads of food and drinks for anyone working in the house.
There has been this on-going 'discussion' between us for the last 10+ years....

I have nothing at all against providing sarnies (as mentioned above) BUT any food provided must be designed to be able to be held in one hand, with no plate, so the other hand is free to wield tools.

She, on the other hand, likes to provide garnish on the side of the plate - bits of salad, crisps, etc - I try and explain that the average worker, while needing food, doesn't want it to get in the way of getting the job done and away home again.

Quick update: Joiner came out & had a look. I had an area in the floor that I'd just laid that had started squeaking and creaking and right away he knew what the problem was.

:oops: I'd over engineered things a bit and had put in dwangs where they weren't needed and screwed the floor to them. He took out some screws and the floor is now silent. I would never in a million years have thought that to be the case....in fact if anything, I was all for putting in even more screws. :oops:

He's going to take pity on me and fit my kitchen but will have to fit it in around his other jobs as he's so busy, so it'll be evenings and perhaps a weekend and wont be until mid August, but that's fine I can wait until then now I can see an end to all this. He's also recommended a good plumber who he uses when he does kitchen work etc so I'm going with his advice.

All the other work will get done whenever he can book me in. I got a good feeling about him, and it's amazing how your mood lifts when you feel you're finally going to get to the end of things in the not too distant future. :sunny:

I'm even going to start the painting again. :lol:

I know that word, :-) I think its because I am a lapsed jock, well, I have lived in england since I was very young, but I am scottish orginally.

Heres a few words I remember ali....

Winching= courting
Sleekit = sneaky
greeten =crying
mockett = dirty
Pint of heavy =pint of bitter

The spelling might be wrong in some words :?
