I think the £319 is Ex VAT and Shipping - is that right?

This one looks the same as your spec EXCEPT for the 6-cell battery instead of 9-Cell

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DELL-INSPIRON-640 ... dZViewItem[/url]

£300 plus VAT + £23.50 shipping at the moment, so pretty comparable EXCEPT also comes with 3 years on-site service ,which is handy

His feedback looks pretty good too

that is odd - didn't work for me either - and is now over anyway

Laptop sold for £350 + VAT so more then your dell price, so if you can get them to speed it up, that would be good

these are the details of the system in that link FYI

cheers hoove anyway.
thing that concerns me is that they didnt contact me. so they have now given me a new date. they will know it is a p*ss take date and i wont be happy so they could have put a date next week just to make me feel happier, then strung me along.
but to go for 4 more weeks when i have been waiting since the 8th sept is just ridiculous.

your first taste of Dell India customer support

When Dell first started, the customer service was the thing that made its reputation but that has all gone to hell now (glad I'm out of there  )

The OU is great and you'd have tea on the table still, John Moores is a decent commute too.

http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/store/c ... oid=-27405

just loaded panda onto it and had a play as vista is a bit new. a little bit slower than my HP but she is on it now and seems happy.
well pleaseed actually as i thought i would be sat here all night setting up, security, email, wireless etc but sorted it out really quickly. i think vista has helped with that.

jason she is happy so lets leave it be ay!

JM is about 35 minutes away. she is fine with that and it gets her in a seat of learning. she wants to do teaching so she needed to get back in the classroom.
we did look at OU but as i say, with teaching she needs to get in there.

That looks like a nice machine at a fair price :thumbright:

With only 1GB RAM, you *may* end up wanting to get more RAM at some time - if so, check www.offtek.co.uk for it. I always get my RAM from them - good prices, lifetime warranty with no hassles and they send special delivery FOC

i noticed in the paper they are offering the same machine for the same price but with only 1gb. they didnt try to talk me out of cancelling the order at all on the phone.
now, considering they moved a 2 week order to 7 makes me think they balls up on the on;pine price and upped the date to get people to cancel it.
cynical ay?
