What make of hard point saws do people use.

I have always used stanley, but recently purchased Predator saws by Spear & Jackson and must admit I was impressed.

They give a nice clean fast cut have lasted well.

The only thing that annoyed me was that I paid £20 quid for two, and then seen them in Platform for £5.99 each. ::b

Bahco make excellent cutting tools right across their range.
My snap on dealer told me a few weeks ago that they own Bahco now.

I use an old Stanley for delicate stuff, or JCB throwaway ones from Makro for floor joists, 4" x2" etc and general rough cutting.

Have an Irwin hardbacked saw for tenons etc, lost my old brass backed saw somewhere.

Still have saw sharpening tools, pliers files etc my Dad left to me, now over 80 yrs old.

Not quite as old as you  they're only about 80.
Dad was passed them by his grandad, my old man passed away 7 years ago aged 84 left me all his old tools, some I have others Mum kept, don't know why, she doesn't use them. Maybe it's to make sure I still visit once in a while.

It's great that you have them John, too many old tools get thrown out.

I'd love to get an old wooden Jack plane, you know about 2 ft long we used at school, to me the blades held their edge longer.
