looking for some advise on what compound mitre saw and petrol chainsaw i should get?
I dont want to spend lots on either really but then dont want somehting crap that wont last or cut straight.
The saw im goin to use it to make a shed cutting 4" x 2" at most i think and other general D.I.Y use. I have seen a few "challenge extreme" and other makes of saw priced around £50 but dont know if it will be a help or a hinder.

The chainsaw will be used for years,(hopefully) as i have recently installed a stove at my house and i plan on going on a few log finds and cutting them at my house.

Any help is gratefully recieved.

I have just bought a Husqvarna 236 (£144 + VAT). It's the smallest petrol one they do. I need it for logs for our stove + fires. I went for the cheapest one from a good make. I've had few goes with it it now and I'm really pleased with it.

For a cheap compound mitre saw I have a Wickes own make one (about £50). I only use that for 90ᵒ cuts in 4x2s or smaller. Its a bit too small for mite cuts on 4x2 but can still be used, you just finish the cuts off with a handsaw. Keep an eye out in the cheap supermarkets, picked up a compound mitre saw with slide arm for about £40 a couple of years ago. The only trouble with the cheap ones is their precision - just that it says its set at 90ᵒ on it, its always best to check with a square
