I'm trying to buy a relatively small amount (10kg - 15kg) of NHL 3.5 lime mortar for re-pointing and patching a lime plinth. I don't mind if 25kg is the minimum quantity.

The issue is, I can't find a supplier in East London/Essex where I can just walk in and pick some up - everything I find is online sales, with delivery costing more than the product.

Can anybody advise where I can buy some around East London/Essex area?

Ideally, it would be the 'just add water' mix, or even ready made. But I want to avoid buying Lime and Sand separtely.

PS - I've never used Lime Mortar before, hence me wanting to get it ready mixed.

Thanks in Advance

I don't think you will be able to buy ready-mix because there is very little demand and it will have a very short shelf life.

Lime is readily available at builders merchants and is pretty cheap; equally a bag of sand, couple of quid. Water is basically free, mix it up yourself.

As for not having used it before, give it a go - the worst that can happen is you'll have to dig out the pointing & patching then have another go. It isn't rocket science, and before hydraulic cement developed in the 19thC, & mechanical mixers, it was what our ancestors built houses, churches etc., with.
