My Virgin media package expires in September. I called them today to cancel with the hope they'd offer me a deal but no such luck as their £32 pm deal for new customers costs £42 for existing customers. I moaned about it but she wouldn't budge so I told her to poke it and let my contract run out in September.

They all seem to do it. Get you in with a cheap deal, get your direct debit up and running and then forget about you.

Company I work for do a similar thing, they get you on board, then up the monthly fee once a year, so the longer you stay the more its costs you. Its just not right and not fair.

I guarantee they'll be back with an 'offer'......

Personally I can't stand them or their attitude. I've got an Amazon stick and Freesat - no comparison for price....

They'll phone you back, they always do.
I've been on at least 50/60% discount since I've been with sky for over 8 years.

Loyalty went years ago, you have to fight and wrangle every year, often these days resorting to "social media shaming" to get anywhere with companies, I hate it.

VM customer services are woeful at best - I would go as far as saying some of the staff are incompetent bordering on inept

I have freeview, freesat with a second lnb on another satellite - tbh most of my view time is on youtube

Some years ago, I switched from VM to Sky, just for one year to get the better deal from Sky. At the end of the year I switched back to VM and enjoyed the first years benefits. I then cancelled and my missus rung VM up and got a years discounted deal from them. I'm about to get her to cancel the VM contract, then I'll offer to become a "new customer" and get yet another deal from them. Stupid really I know, but with VM, that's the only way to get these deals from them. You'd have thought that by now they'd be offering deals to existing customers each year, but VM are no respecters of that old fashioned thing called "Loyalty."

I finally received a call a few days ago from the CEO's office ( i emailed my complaint to them). They've given me a good deal which works out cheaper than what I'm paying now. £31pm for 100mb BB. phone with free weekend calls and their basic TV which I never use anyway.

I'm happy as Larry but it's a shame existing customers have to complain instead of just giving the same deal as new customers.

That's me sorted for another year :thumbright:

The simple fact that you have to go 'to the top' just to get what you justifiably deserve would make me take my business elsewhere. It's a travesty and an insult that you have to go to such an extent.

Yeah I know but I can't get 100mb bb anywhere else so I'm stuck. I bought my years supply of Sly Sky too so that's me sorted for the football for the next year.
