I just don't see the need.

TBH neither do I. The effect on the upper atmosphere is most worrying, especially as aircraft deliver the polutants directly into the upper atmosphere in many cases. Personally I don't fly unless I have to - and for the last 15 years I haven't had to. But then I've never felt the need to fly off for a cheap weekend here there and everywhere once or twice a month like some people seem to need to do. Far too much self and not enough thought for the planet I feel

Nice to know I'm "on trend" - it won't happen very often.

Hmmmm  We fly a few times a year so I guess we are polluters.

We travelled on the 1st July from Stansted to Palma, a journey we have done many times before. I have never seen it so crowded and our flight was delayed as we could not get a slot into Palma. When we arrived there was a huge sea of humanity milling about and I have never seen such a queue to get through Passport control. The line was five or six abreast and tailed back over 100 yards to the departure lounge. I think that there has been a shift in holiday destinations from the eastern Med as far fewer people are going to Turkey and the Greek Islands because of perceived terrorist threats and migrants.

Unfortunately this manifested itself into a few riff raff getting into our hotel. Some Welsh chavs were particularly uncouth, being very loud, failing to dress smartly for dinner, which is a hotel requirement, ( tatty shorts and vests) and sneaking their own beer into the pool area. I supposed they got used to all inclusive in Turkey.

I hope this will not be a trend for the future.
