For short runs where I want to be able to remove cables, I use flexible hose like they use for the drain on a washing machine. Free if you can find a scrap machine to rob.

Either capping plastic or steel. http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/ ... index.html

Or oval conduit is what I use mainly because the wall chaser I use only cuts 30mm width. http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Main_Index/ ... index.html

Capping should do you ok provided the cables are double insulated.

You'll also need a hot air gun and a mandrel to make the ends round so that you can take them through the KOs in backboxes.

The size that you need given the guidance in Appendix 5 of the On-Site Guide.
