A choice of Fernox DS40 or Sentinal X400. You have to be careful that you do not get leaks after use.

I wonder, if you are going to remove the rads, chemical cleaning will cause the sludge to emulsify and pass around the whole system, it does not magically disappear only becomes more fluid to drain out. If you are prepared to remove the rads to power flush them I would consider doing that 1st (be sure to have containers to catch the muck and plenty of old towels as it contains irons and stains the devil on carpets, a couple of blanking plugs would be best whilst getting them outside without a trail of drips, been there done that). Then, after getting the system running again, chemical clean leaving it in for a couple of weeks use, before draining and flushing and ultimately inhibiting.

Full instructions come with pack, usually enough for 3 to4 bed house size system. Not sure how long they recommend to leave in but my local Plumbers told me 2 weeks to a month and this worked good to rid boiler knocking as well, but a good few flush operation before I was happy to put inhibitor in.

I put in some Sentinal in my system yesterday and it says to put it in for 1 hour or until the system is working properly. Still waiting....

Leave the X400 in for a couple of weeks before flushing it out.

It is not designed as a quick flushing agent. For a quick job you should have got X800 which takes about an hour.

Use all of the litre bottle you have of both of them.
