Here's a project i started in november for myself. I got some money for christmas and decided as i moved into my first home with the gf not long ago i could do as i wanted and i set about ordering bar related things from a web site optics, bar towels, drinks pourers etc i told the gf of my plans of making a bar and she wasnt pleased to say the least :roll: lol. Still i carried on regardless lmao as there was a perfect space in our old kitchen at the time which was just dead space. She still wasnt pleased and didnt quiet beleif me about my plans :lol: then my goodies arrived. :huray: I had also decided on my plan for the bar, i just wanted something simple and modern and maybe portable as we are privatly renting and may need to move. So i got my materials and started these pics were in our old place which we moved from:

Simple wood frame.

I simply cladded with T&G flooring for a simple mordern but rustic look (i think anyway lol) and created a servive area below the main bar top to pour drinks etc just ply which i wanted to have a granite top made for but when i cosidered the price for granite and no workies at the time i went for the cheaper polished black porcilin tile.

heres a few more pics during the little project

The tiles;

Tiling

I havnt done much tiling before, and when doing the sides found it hard as the tiles just wanted to fall to the floor i ended up useing cellotape to hold them in place lol i should have fixed a batton around the bottom to hold the tiles which i could remove later but didnt think lol i have stained it here but not happy with the finish wanted a more oak colour.

heres a pic once i had grouted the bar and fitted leds to the underneath

And finaly in its new home a extension so i have my own room for my bar :huray:

Aerial wire bugs the hell out of me but will hopefully wil get the landlord to let me hide it lol

Lastly some were to plonk your behind

And thats it, hope i havnt bored you all to much. But i love it my own bar i can slope off to watch tv/dvd surf the net cook some scran as the extension is just off the kitchen and most of all i can enjoy a drink in peace .

Thanks to you if you made it this far lol... and,

cheers :occasion5:

When i was ploding on making it i nearly screwed the main top to the frame, then realised i would have a big problem when i come to move it. :scratch: so i gave it a quick thought and braced the ply underneath and fitted angle brackets to the bar top and to the frame to secure the top. :thumbright: but in answer to your question yes its very heavy :lol: the bar top is just as heavy as the frame lol.

Thanks for the comments people :mrgreen:
