Im in the process of painting the outside of my house in magnolia , the problem is the side of my kitchen extension the wall has some cracks in it and id like to fill them before I repaint it , what would be best to skim over the wall with and how would you do this.

I wouldn't skim a wall outside because you will be putting a thin layer onto paint which has flaked and it maybe more trouble than it is worth. Try sanding with P40 sandpaper, and brushing with a wire brush to remove anything which isn't sound, then fill the offending areas using a cheap plastering trowel. I would recommend Touprelith F for that, then sand again and paint.
