Hi guys, just getting ready to lay my first ever carpet in a spare bedroom, i think i have everything i need for the job, just wondering how far to set the gripper strip from the skirting board, i have tried googling the answer and everone says something different  i have had answers from 10mm, 6mm, no more than 3mm and even an inch ::b ::b

I imagine it depends on the type or pile of carpet too, the carpet in which i am laying is a very short pile twist kind with a felt looking backing... ANY IDEAS GUYS??

The thickness of the carpet 10-15mm.

I would go for 10mm ish then you can dress the edge in nice and tight with a bolster.
