We had a 32" LCD tv start playing up and then failed completely. Looked on net found the fault was commom and a Kit is available to fix so £8 later and a hour to solder the parts in and TV working again.

Sorted.

And well chuffed.

The interweb is a great place to find out 'common' faults - it used to be the same with old CRT tellys too. Nice result.

Power supply faults came down to a transistor in the end after changing 6 capacitors, but all the same east to do apart from the transistor as it was well buried and on the reverse a bunch of surface mount resistors in close proximity.

Yeah, if the internet fails you can always be the guy who invents the common fault/ fix thread :wink:
