Hi again

busy weekend here - :? can cables (2.5mm T & E) be run up the surface of a wall close to water pipes running up the same surface ( both a hot and a cold)?-

want to fix cable to wall that will get boxed in to save chasing out - the cable will run horizontally on the wall surface behind the pipes and then vertically up the wall parallel with the pipes (about 2" away)- this is all within the 150mm zone from corner of room.

also can cable be run down a hole in worktop cut for water pipe? the cable will run directly behind the pipe about 1" away. does it matter if the pipe is a hot or cold pipe?
thanks :help:

Just keep it away from the hot water pipe (or use pipe insulation).

You don't want the cable's insulation to melt or become degraded.

Hi

anyone got a wiring diagram to show how to wire 2 ceiling lights so they both work together from two 2 way switches.

i have 2 ceiling lights in the kitchen each working from it's own switch . i want to change this so both lights can be turned on/off from either of two switches ( one at each of the doors into the kitchen)

thanks

Maddie - I don't know how far you've got with this crazy idea of yours that you can do electrical design and installation work on the fly, without first learning what you should know, thinking it'll be OK to ask whatever random questions happen to occur to you as you go along, but will you please stop RIGHT NOW.

Either wait until you have learned or get someone who knows what they are doing, before you make a dreadful mistake because you didn't ask about something you had no idea existed.
