Hiya, could anyone advise me what to say to my council about this ongoing problem that i have had .

The neighbour above me, before she sold her house on to a private landlord had her bathroom renovated. She has a shower cubical and a seperate bath as before the shower was over the bath. Since this renovation i am constanly getting water down, this has been an ongoing for 4+ years now i am really at the end of my teather.

There have been 3 different tennants in the house all different natonalities, and when i have gone up to tell them about the water you can im sure imagine the response with the laungauge barrier .

Anyhow i managed to get the landlords mobile number and passed it on to my council to deal with it .
Ok the plumber comes out and fixes it but it never lasts , and no one ever comes to my door to see if things are ok.
This really gets me down so much i get so depressed and try to ignore the constant damp smell , the horrible black on my walls and the brown patches on the ceiling in the bathroom hall and kitchen.

I wont put my kitchen cupboards up now that there is this black coming through the walls.

The main thing that has made me post this topic is that for the last 4 years my eyes swell up really bad and i have a nasal spray for rhinitis, sore ears and headaches i have worse days than others.

And today i feel awfull and i was sitting reading my leaflet about my medication and the different causes for this whatever the fcuk allergy that im supposed to have
Could it be this black damp fungi in the house.

any help much appreciated
thanks Aileen.

:dunno: Eileen..Go to your Doctor (GP) ask them to write a letter to the council about how your living conditions are affecting your health..the council are obliged to ensure you have a healthy living environment.

Citizen advice might be worth a visit as well.

Aileen,

You could also contact your local Environmental Health Officer and get them round to have a look!

Thank's wine~o, Honestly though i am sick asking someone from my council just to look to see the damage this is doing to (their own property to!).
They sent a plumber out he saw the ceiling marks ect. He also seen the water drip in the kitchen while he was there (slow drip) and he said it was possible they could have washed the floor :cb
I am polite to people even though i know they are taking the pi*s, Most tradesmen do this especially to a woman.
But i am going to my GP on monday. Because if i dont they will be coming to take me away :?
Cheers for your reply

SSM

Thank's SSM i will need to do something!
I keep telling the council this only occured when the shower cubicle was put in the flat above me. When i moved into this flat there was an invalid shower with the most annoying noisy pump to help drain away the water. I asked the council if they could remove it for a bath, they said it would be a waste as it cost £1000 to install. And as the drains are slow the pump was needed. So i ended up removing it myself put a bath in with the shower over it and no noisy pump. So i keep getting the waste water that builds up from the flat above. And im trying to get the council to explain this to this landlord as there is a way to fix it once and for all.
Thank's for your reply SSM
Aileen.
