My dad always drummed the above saying into me from being a kid
Last week our vacuum cleaner died, motor burnt out,as we only paid £20 for it second hand I didn't see the point in buying a new motor for it,after all we have has it two years and was used everyday
today I was coming home from town and spotted a skip outside a house so as usual me being a skip rat i pulled over and asked permission to have a root.the folk had just moved in and the previous occupants had left a load of junk in the back garden mainly building rubbish so I salvaged a few good lengths of 3x2 some off cuts of MDf and low and behold under the crap was a Vax cadence Hoover,
As soon as i got home and plugged it in I found it was running but no suction,a few minutes later I discovered the drive belt had come off and the filter choked with plaster board dust,Just spent two hours with my trusty air compressor blowing it all out,re attached the belt and now we have a new Hoover
I just Google the model and it retails between £50 to £80 so I'm hopefully going to treat myself to a set of Teng screwdrivers I have been promising myself for a while

Strange...whenever I hire a skip no one borrows anything..more likely to fill it with their cr@p..
