All I did was Google Indesit and select www.indesitservice.co.uk/ on that page select user manuals enter model number and Hay Presto User Manual reading the manual it shows a series of lights who's function changes according to buttons and dials pressed. I would guess she has selected a delay or something but come on I am sure you can read manual as easy as I can!

i have read the instruction manual....and i know that the light indicates when a function is selected....BUT the light is staying on all the time...it wont turn off...even when the on off button turns off...the green light stays on .....the instruction manual doesnt go into fault diagnosis.....so i though i would call on the worldly expertise of appliance electricians on here ....which is what i was doing

Have you tried re-booting. i.e. turn off at wall and back on again? Likely the machine is controlled by a PIC and something has latched turning off and on again with enough time for capacitors to discharge cures many faults.
