Block Paving Fall

Post by ahfix »

Hi guys,

I'm sure this question has been asked a 100 times before ... sorry.

I am in the process of laying out type 1 for a patio which will probably be block paved. The area first area I need to tackle is a rectangle 2.5m wide which will drain towards the garden and 6m long.

I've calculated the 1:60 fall as 2500mm / 60 = 42mm ish but I am wondering if I can get away with less, something like 1:80 which is 30mm?

The reason for asking is that part 2 will involve adding a section to make it an L shape and wrap around to the side of the house. I feel that a 1:60 fall may make it hard to get everything level once the paving meets the side of the house.

Any thoughts?

ah

BTW. I am using my Evolution Hulk electric whacker which is doing a fair job ... i'll write a review on it at some point.
