renew euro cylinder lock on upvc juliet balcony doors

Post by awscott »

Trying to replace euro cylinder lock on upvc juliet balcony doors as we were given no keys from previous owners.
Have taken off handles and can see no securing screw within the frame.
any thoughts ! have viewed you tube vidoes which all appear to show securing screw being removed

The securing screw is often underneath the faceplate of the lock, (on the leading edge of the door) however, you'll struggle without a key as that is usually required to turn the lock snib into the correct position to withdraw the cylinder.
One day it will all be firewood.

As ayjay says, removing the cylinder without the key will be errr.... problematic.

3 options, pick the lock, Drill the lock (cobalt or better drill bit), or if you have enough cylinder hanging out - just snap it

All the above is assuming its not a high security cylinder

I'm not going to post any links but vids can be found on youtube/google on the above methods

A picture of the offending lock may be useful
