Iv just found out with help from a couple of members on the plumbers forum that the walls in my bathroom are actually cement board and no plasterboard.
I'm planning on tiling the walls from top to bottom and fitting a mixer shower over the bath.
The walls are currently painted with emulsion, I've decided I'm going to have a go at removing this just to be on the safe side before tiling.
Do I need to prime the cement board before I tile?
Does the bath/shower area need tanking?
Thanks

No need to prime or tank. (edit) assuming it actually is a cement board... Pics ?

Thanks wine-o that's what I was hoping for, I've deleted the pictures now but they are over on the plumbers forum under the title ' can I fit this to tiled 15mm plasterboard ' if you wanted a look.
Cheers

Had a look and that might be cement board. Couldn't be certain though
