Artex or Decorative Plaster

Post by Sean2012 »

Hi all,

Can anyone advise whether my ceilings and walls are covered with Artex or is it just decorative plaster. The wall is just 1/3 covered with this stuff. I would like to get redecorate my kitchen by removing this stuff and then painting but I am hoping it is not Artex containing Asbestos.

We recently purchased this property and the home buyers report did not mention it. So was wondering if anyone can advise by just looking at the pics?

Kind Regards

If it helps, stocks of artex containing asbestos probably ran out in the 1980's.

Thanks for the reply. But I'm not sure when this installed as I just moved in.

Thats artex, I would get it tested or if you dont know when it was done I personally would just paint it, better to be safe than sorry.
