what to use to paint wardrobe?
I have purchased an old pine wardrobe that has previously been painted white. It's pretty old and rough looking so I'd like to repaint in an off-white colour.
What type of paint should I use for this? I'm not wanting gloss or the distressed look that is popular right now. Satin or Matt would be best I guess. Any brands or colours that are good? I was looking on amazon and a lot of the paints seem to have pretty negative reviews.

Re: what to use to paint wardrobe?
If it's painted then give it a sand/key then go on with your paint.
You could use a Annie Sloan and wax.
You can opt for a satin wood or an eggshell or a hard wearing Matt.
You could use an emulsion and varnish.
Many ways.
Decide on your finish and we could direct you on products.
Just make sure it's not been waxed before, if it has it needs to be removed first.

I'm looking for a matt/satin finish. Dont want the shining and yellowing that often comes from Varnish or the more rustic/distressed look that seems to be fashionable right now. A simple off-white is what I'm looking for.Desmondo15 wrote:If it's painted then give it a sand/key then go on with your paint.

Cupboard paint adheres well..wash down, rub down with fine abrasive paper and roll a couple of coats on using a sponge roller
