I bought this new blowtorch last week.

I also bought some Rothenberger gas but realised the connection is different. The one I have has a UNEF 1" US Connection.
Is the price difference due to the difference in threads between US and euro or is there something I'm missing?
For example this euro thread is only £5.99

While this US thread is double the price

Re: Choosing gas for my new blowtorch
I believe it's for use with the 2nd (MAP/Propane type)

Re: Choosing gas for my new blowtorch
The metal canisters are what the trade use there more robust and the gas mixes give a finer and hotter burn, personally I like the mapp gas as you can work quickly (yellow can) if that torch can use it
the price difference, the canisters are at a higher pressure and contain more gas iirc - you can also buy them anywhere off the shelf (there are other brands of gas for under £10 too)
if your torch is us spec it has a 1" thread with a large middle pin, if its the eu multigas it will be 7/16 (think taymar blow lamp)

Re: Choosing gas for my new blowtorch
Thanks for the explanation. I knew which canister it was but just curious as to why it was more expensive.
