Heat resistant tape

Post by jak68 »

Hi, is there such a thing out there as a heat resistant tape that I can use on my flue from my multi fuel stove?

I have fitted a new plate in the chimney and sealed it around the edges with fire cement but I have added an access hatch for the chimey sweep to be able to get his brushes up the chimney and I am looking for something that will seal the hatch on a temporary basis to stop the smike getting through.

Is anyone able to help with this :dunno:

Thanks

The access hatch should have a rope seal. Failing that you could use high temperature sealant but would have to 'chip it off' every time you opened the hatch for sweeping.
