I've noticed when I leave my boiler on for a considerable time as I have done during the cold spell there's water underneath the boiler. There is no pressure loss.
I was told this is condensation as the hot and cold pipes underneath are too close together and cause condensation which drips from the pipes. is this right and is there anything I can do to rectify this?

Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you looked to see if it is condensation? (And who told you it is?)

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

I haven't had a proper look but definitely coming from the bottom of the boiler and no loss of pressure. The last engineer mentioned it at the last service.someone-else wrote:Sorry to ask the obvious, but have you looked to see if it is condensation? (And who told you it is?)

insulate the cold water pipe, problem should be sorted. (I assume you only get condensation during the colder months)

I've only noticed it when I've had the heating on for a prolonged period of time so yes I suppose. I'll take a photo of the pipes later on and hopefully you can tell me what's whatwine~o wrote:insulate the cold water pipe, problem should be sorted.
