Monobloc tap repair
I have managed to remove the handle and am left with this.
There is a nut with what looks like half a washer attached to the top, (for what purpose puzzles me)
Any idea what to do next?
I have tried to turn the nut with no success.
The make of tap is unknown. Does anyone know if a cartridge lies below? And how do I get to it?
Thanks very much.

Re: Monobloc tap repair
That is the cartridge. Water off and undo that nut, the cartridge will either unscrew or pull out, will probably be tight.

Thanks for your reply.
Any idea what type or make of cartridge I need to get? And what on earth is the purpose of the half washer attached to the nut?

It is difficult to source the right cartridge replacement as you have to match the number of splines and the shaft length. See here https://shop.lunns.net/tap-spares-8-c.asp As I often say on here it is often cheaper to replace the tap.

Re: Monobloc tap repair
I had some Ideal Standard taps and could not find the replacement cartridges. I had to scrap them and buy new taps. I learned my lesson and only buy cheapo ones now with a view to dumping if they are unserviceable.
