Fitting new socket plates

Post by Argyll »

I'm fitting some new socket plates but some won't fit due to the shallow back box. I'm guessing rather than replace the back box for a deeper one there's some sort of additional plate I can install that would fit between the socket plate and the wall?

These worked well for the light fittings but not so much for the power outlets. There was a 5-10mm gap between the new chrome socket and the white faceplate. The gubbings inside the new socket was obstructing the faceplate.

He doesn't recall the manufacturers name of the sockets to enquire whether they make a specific faceplate for those particular sockets.
