shame you didn't see if there was any markings on the lock or the key, its a unusual lock

It may be a normal safe on its end

Bit of a follow up (couldn't sleep last night)

The locks are known as dimple key lock block the main manufacture seem to be in Taiwan - Secutor Corp and there is also a Chinese company called InnTech

The safes no longer seem to be produced, but there are plenty of keyed safes on the market
