Large retaining wall

Hi
I'm looking for some advice on where to begin with a retaining wall that needs building. We've just moved into the house and it's leaning quite a lot. It's not really safe to let the kids play outside. The wall measure approx 8.62m x 1.7m. Looking at the pictures would it be safer and easier to build the new wall in front of the existing one and knock it down bit by bit? And how deep would the foundations need to be?

Any advice?

If you build a new wall infront of the old one, how will you knock down / remove the old one? (There will be a wall in the way)

That's a poor attempt at a retaining wall. It's basically a fence made up of gravel boards.

I'd be getting advice from an expert before tackling that myself.

State your concerns to your neighbour and ask their advice also check with your solicitor if you have just purchased to clarify whose responsibility it is to fix the wall in the first place and where the boundary line lies

Why? It's not the boundry, it's in the middle of his garden
