Door stop

Post by mole81 »

What is the standard size for door stop? My current ones are 10x46 (with layers of paint!) and struggling to find this to replace a section?

Could you not just buy some slightly bigger and trim to size?

Be careful what you ask for..... A "door stop" means something different to an ironmonger (and for that matter most joiners I know) in this area. The term we use up here is "stop lath" (often pronounced "stop latt) whilst in the Midlands I believe they call them "banging strips".... Ask for a door stop in a local merchants in Manchester and you'll probably end up having a bit of a four candles moment...
"The person who never made a mistake, never made anything" - Albert Einstein

"I too will something make, And joy in the making" - Robert Bridges, 1844~1930

"The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Bertrand Russell from The Triumph of Stupidity", 1933
