Hi
I need to restore wood furniture around the house, a couple of oak side tables, pine shelf and oak dining table/chairs. Previously I used Sadolin wood oil clear satin on them. Now I want to have gloss finish or even high gloss if pos. In the oil based finishes, I can only find gloss finish, which are mainly oil mixed with wax, are there high gloss oil finishes?
There are water based varnishes in high gloss labelled as yacht varnish but don't want to go that route because I find it easier to work with oil even though takes longer to dry and to finish the job.
Which product gives high gloss clear finish on wood

Well its been waxed/oiled so that sort of rules out a water base only thing that springs to mind is a French polish (shellac) to give it a super high gloss but it will take many coats and long time to achieve

Ronseal Diamond Hard gloss water based varnish does the trick. It does not darken and it is tough. Have a look around as you can you can buy small 250ml cans to experiment. I know you are reluctant to move from oil but this is the way to go.

That's right it rules out water based products as it's too much work to sand to bare wood and therefore can't uses Ronseal Diamond hard varnish.
I have never used French polish Shllac, don't know if easy to apply?
Anyone has used Osmo Polyx oil in gloss? This seems my best option so far.
