Cabinet blocking access to boiler

Post by Phillippa »

Hi. Forgive me if this is a strange question. I had a new boiler fitted which they managed to slot into the existing kitchen cabinet. Unfortunately the front of the boiler can't be taken off because the bottom part of the cabinet is in the way. This is fine at the moment but if anything went wrong with the boiler they wouldn't be able to get into it to fix it. So my question is can I cut away the bottom part of the cabinet or would this cause the rest of the cabinet to no longer be stable?

Please be gentle on me - not used to this sort of thing! Many thanks for your help, Phillippa

I think there is probably just enough room to wiggle that cover off there.

If not don't worry the plumber will soon make enough room. Seen many a cabinet butchered by boiler engineers.

If the lessons of history teach us anything it is that nobody learns the lessons that history teaches us.

I think there is room tbh. If there wasn’t I don’t think a gas safe plumber/heating engineer would’ve fitted it and signed it off.

Thank you both. It seems that you have to bring it forward before lifting out and the bottom of the cabinet is blocking this. What I might do is wait for it's service to be sure. The butchering by a plumber is what worries me! So thought it might be better to prepare for it in advance. Thanks again, Phillippa
