Bummer. I just bought a 1 metre set of drills a week ago at £27. At least I did what I needed to do.

Those multi use spanners are pretty handy. They've got me out of a few tight spots.

Drop forged hook, pressed-steel handle plumbers pipe wrench originally designed by Footprint Tools of Sheffield in 1875 (and who still make them today)Argyll wrote:I don't know what footprints are.Rorschach wrote:Are those multi spanners any better than footprints?

We actually made a small pair as part of our apprenticeship training.Job and Knock wrote:Drop forged hook, pressed-steel handle plumbers pipe wrench originally designed by Footprint Tools of Sheffield in 1875 (and who still make them today)Argyll wrote:I don't know what footprints are.Rorschach wrote:Are those multi spanners any better than footprints?
Cut out the shape for the handle, and then shaped it with a press tool.
Cut and filed the inner handle and jaws, and case hardened the teeth.
Turned and knurled the screw.
All worked fine, and were used for all sorts/
Still got them somewhere.
I actually prefer them to the Stilson type for some things.

Love my footprints, very useful for all sorts of plumbing and non-plumbing jobs.
