What wood for attaching to floor joists

Post by curtains »

I need to fix a 3" block of wood parallel to the floor joist so I can screw floorboards down but what wood would I need to use and what size screws should I use. I was thinking of screwing 2 pieces of cls together but would this be strong enough.

2 x 3" cls should be fine. Pilot hole first and use 6 x 80's as a minimum. As long as it's solid when tightened then it'll be fine.
