Boiler installation doesn't look right.
Am I correct in assuming this boiler has been installed incorrectly?
It looks as if compression fittings have been used on the gas pipe!

Re: Boiler installation doesn't look right.
I'm not a GasSafe person, but I'm unaware of their being any problem with suitably-approved compression fittings for gas. Not sure if that white stuff is plastic pipe, or copper pipe that has been painted though. If it's the former, then I'm pretty sure that's what would be termed by your average teenager as an "Epic fail". Otherwise, I'm going to guess "ugly, but compliant" for that install Interested to see what the proper heating-engineer types have to say about it all though.
Haste is the enemy of quality.

Re: Boiler installation doesn't look right.
Compression fittings can be used on gas as long as they are visible to allow for inspection.
No professional I know of would use compression fittings though, in those positions.
Looking at worktop level, it appears to be copper that is painted, I hope.

Okay but someone on here a few years ago mentioned about not using compression fittings on a gas pipe. Maybe I picked them up wrong.
Which one is the gas pipe?

Re: Boiler installation doesn't look right.
You may be thinking of the fact that compression fittings on gas pipe work cannot be hidden and not accessible such as behind kitchen units or under floorboards.
The gas is the middle 15mm pipe with the yellow isolating valve.
Yellow denotes gas.

The main issue I can see (apart from being untidy) is that it's a Vokera...

It’s the salmonella bar joining the worktop that’s making me cringe the most! At least the pipe work can be boxed in

Good spot, it doesn't even look like a new valve [emoji23]arco_iris wrote:The bit I like is what looks like a rad. valve on the filling loop.

Re: Boiler installation doesn't look right.
Given that the lower half is painted & yet bare copper above the joints, the boiler has been replaced by one of the same make (or pattern)? Compression joints used so that the job can be done again if it doesn't work, but it did, so we didn't bother.Ktuludays wrote:Good spot

I think the place is being rented for students/immigrants so the owner clearly isn't giving a flying f*ck. Every time I walk up the tenement stairs it's like being in the UN
