Insulating oak floor

Post by CHIPPYAL »

]'m working in a cottage that has a lovely but draughty oak floor.

Any suggestions how I can either insulate or prevent draughts without taking the floor up as I cant see it being done without causing damage.

many thanks

Al

I just did mine from under floor boards and I am telling you is pig of a job , it gets in to your eyes and you can wear goggles, as it keep steaming up .

But you need to open one area of the floor boards, so you can access and go through this hole and you will doing it underfloor and it all depends how much depth you have, as I have about 3ft depth. It is not nice there, but I am sure it will be warmer in winter less cold feet.
I had few opening in the house, but I used the pantry and this is was my in and out to go under floorboards.
